danishaDanisha began organizing as a high school student in 1993, taking on the state of Washington and City of Seattle around student concerns of disproportionality and curriculum reform, as well as the fight for police accountability and oversight of the Seattle Police Department. Since then, she has worked on a variety of campaigns at local, regional and national levels. In her current position, she works with state affiliate organizations to build organizational capacity, manages national campaigns, and oversees the Alliance’s Institute for Pragmatic Practice Project, as well as the Native Organizing Network. Danisha is Black, White and Native and a single mother of a toddler. And when she’s not organizing or mothering, is also a holistic fertility specialist, working to improve the reproductive health of women. danisha@allianceforajustsociety.org
