The Alliance for a Just Society has been supporting the voices of small business owners on pressing policy issues since 2005. We began by providing research, organizing, and technical assistance to small business coalitions working on health care issues in the Northwest. Over the last few years, we have helped partners in other states launch small business coalitions to also work on health care issues.
In 2008, the Alliance supported the launch of the Main Street Alliance, a national network of state-based small business coalitions. Now a growing network of over 10,000 small businesses in 14 states, the Main Street Alliance is a powerful voice for business owners who share a vision of public policies in health care, economic justice, and immigration that benefit small businesses, their employees, and the communities they serve.
