Thousands of teachers, long-term care workers, nurses, cops, firefighters, public servants and middle class families gathered the state Capitol in Olympia today to show solidarity with Wisconsin. Washington State Patrol estimated the pro-union crowd at 2,500.
A counter-rally organized by the state Republican party drew a much smaller number, with only about 300 showing up.
Between chants of Òwe will not be divided,Ó speakers reminded a cheering crowd that Wall Street banks and billionaires are to blame for the economic recession, and Wall Street banks and billionaires should do their part to clean it up.
